Industrial Lighting
Productivity, safety and reduced errors are key + energy.

Typical fixtures found in industrial settings

MVR400/U lamps should NEVER be used in High-Bay fixtures: Upgrade to 360WM for energy savings with same light or
400 Staybright for more light with same energy Use PulseArc in new installations

Choose appropriate light level depending on the nature of the work. Good lighting affects safety and productivity. Task lighting is to be used wherever possible, giving the user some control. High bay fixtures often use MVR 400/U, should be changed to WattMiser (360 W), to high output lamps (VBU, XHO) and to PulseArc (PA) or StayBright. 6-lamp T5 and T8 fixtures are also becoming popular.

If color perception is important, replace HPS with GE Chromafit metal halide lamps to get white light from the same fixture without change of ballast.

Major Retrofit Opportunities:

  • MVR400/U to MVR360WM
  • MVR400/U to PulseArc or Staybright
  • HPS400 to Chromafit
  • T12 on magnetic ballasts to T8 on electronic ballasts (includes 8-ft.)
  • Task lighting to supplement general lighting
  • HID fixtures replaced with Linear Fluorescent Fixtures
