Ecolux® Lamps All GE 2ft., 3 ft. and 4 ft. T8 lamps are now Ecolux ® (reduced mercury design)

GE has made reduced mercury the standard for all T8 lamps: 2 foot, 3 foot and 4 foot. Additionally, T5 lamps and the 4 foot T12 lamp are now available in Ecolux.

All GE Ecolux® lamps pass the federal EPA test for mercury content (called the TCLP test).

Lamps that pass the TCLP are not considered hazardous waste under federal and state laws. However, local standards may be different. You must be aware of local laws and requirements before deciding on disposal.
