"Biax®" refers to the U-shaped bend with 2-legs.
Double Biax®, Triple Biax® and Quad Biax® refers to lamps with 2, 3 or 4 "Biaxes", i.e. 4 legs, 6 legs or 8 legs.

Compact fluorescent (CFL) lamps are available in a number of shapes and bases. These physical characteristics are often used to distinguish the differences between lamps.

The shape of the bulb is one of the most easily recognized characteristics of a compact fluorescent lamp. These lamps are designed to fit everything from table lamps to wall sconces and ceiling fixtures. The unique shape and compact size of the compact fluorescent lamp mean they will fit almost anywhere incandescent bulbs are used.

Energy Savings PLUS Long Life: Replacing a 100W incandescent bulb with a 28W CFL lamp produces the same amount of light but reduces energy consumption by 70%. At 10 cents per kWh, with lamps left on half the time (12 hours per day) there will be a savings of over $30 per year per socket in the energy bill.

And, of course, the CFL lamp lasts 10 to 15 times longer than the incandescent counterpart.
