GE also markets the Ecolux® line of reduced mercury HPS lamps. These lamps pass the federal TCLP test for non-hazardous waste: they have reduced mercury and lead free solder.

These lamps do not cycle at end of life, but turn bluish white. This makes it particularly easy to identify lamps that have reached end-of-life while they are still providing light. In contrast, standard HPS lamps will cycle at end of life: the street light may be on when the truck drives by, and go out only after the maintenance crew has gone out of sight. Cycling in indoor fixtures may be noticed more readily.

Ecolux® lamps are available in a all wattages from 70 W to 400 W.
