The complete line of GE electronic ballasts includes four dimming types: two variable dimming and two switched dimming types.

The variable dimming units allow efficient dimming from 5% to 100% of light output.

The two switched dimming versions adjust the light to preset levels: One provides the options of 50% to 100% light output, and the other is adjustable to 30%, 60%, or 100% light output.

GE dimming ballasts require the installation of two additional control lines for remote dimming, which will add to the cost of installation. However, the energy savings associated with dimming usually make this a good investment for the end-user.
