Retrofits and Energy Savings It is possible to save 40% to 45% of energy without losing light levels when you switch from T12 to T8 systems!

T12 Watt-Miser® Cool White was, untill 2004, the most common 4-foot lamp in the Commercial and Industrial Market!

It provides a great opportunity for a complete site retrofit that can pay back for itself in 2 years or less.

ENERGY SAVINGS START FROM DAY ONE!!

Retrofitting T12 systems involves:

(1) Replacing the electromagnetic ballast with an electronic ballast e.g. GE UltraMAX™ typically ballast factor of 0.77.

(2) Replacing T12 lamps with T8 lamps, e.g. GE's F28T8

(3) Replacing sockets if they have burned out from arcing, etc.

Note that standard T8 lamps and standard T8 ballasts are now out of date!!
Example: 4 lamp fixture operating 4500 hours per year.
